Understanding Salt Meter
A salt meter is an instrument that is used to measure the amount of salt present in a substance.
ATAGO uses both the electrical conductivity method and the refractometer method for our salt meters
- The electrical conductivity method uses salt (NaCl) to conduct more electricity than other substances to ascertain the salt concentration by measuring the electrical conductivity.
- The refractometer method uses the fact that refractive index increases as salt concentration in an aqueous solution increases.
