Understanding Non-Destructive Brix Meter
What is a Non-Destructive Brix Meter?
A non-destructive Brix meter uses infrared spectroscopy techniques wher light is shined against the fruit. Then, based on the light’s interaction with the fruit, a Brix measurement is determined.
The Brix (sugar level) can be measured by placing the fruit on the sample stage without cutting or squeezing. It requires no more cumbersome wiping and cleansing after each measurement.
Due to the preset calibration and different measuring ranges, a separate device is required for each type of fruit. Many measurements can be carried out rapidly to receive a representative average result.
